Bright Speed of Texas
[edit]In Wikipedia article it says Bright Speed of Texas is an operating telephone company owned by Brightspeed. The first telephone company of Texas to offer broadband internet was Valley Telephone Cooperative thru a Texas state Tariff, effective February 1998. across 7,300 square miles and 17 exchanges. Investors Business Daily front page October 4, 1999 recognized the service accomplishment. Valley Telephone Cooperative operates in the same territory today. The state tariff can be documented. The Investor Business Daily article cannot be found on the web by me as evidently IBD has no archive information beyond 2000. I saved a paper copy and had it scanned at Kinkos and can provide a soft copy. I can also email the State tariff. Valley Telephone was first rural company to offer broadband Internet in US.
