Update ownership information

[edit]

Hello. I work for Allison, an agency that represents Bomb Pop. I am therefore disclosing a paid conflict of interest and am not making this substantive edit directly.

I would appreciate an uninvolved editor reviewing the following proposed change.

Current text

The Bomb Pop is a brand of ice pops manufactured by Wells Enterprises.

Proposed text

The Bomb Pop is a brand of ice pops manufactured by Wells Enterprises. Ferrero Group completed its acquisition of Wells Enterprises in January 2023, acquiring Wells Enterprises' portfolio of brands, including Bomb Pop.

Reason for the change

The existing article identifies Wells Enterprises as the manufacturer but does not provide the subsequent ownership information following Ferrero Group's acquisition of Wells Enterprises.

We have tried to limit the proposed language to factual information supported by reliable sources and to avoid promotional or marketing language.

Because of my relationship with Bomb Pop, I would appreciate an uninvolved editor determining whether this information is appropriate for inclusion and, if so, the wording, sourcing, and placement that best comply with Wikipedia's policies.

Update product lineup

[edit]

Hello. I work for Allison, an agency that represents Bomb Pop. I am therefore disclosing a paid conflict of interest and am not making this substantive edit directly.

I would appreciate an uninvolved editor reviewing the following proposed change.

Current text

As of 2025, there are nine main Bomb Pop flavors, as well as four "Extremes" flavors. The active Bomb Pop flavors are: Original, Original Sugar Free, Banana Fudge, Watermelon, Hawaiian Punch, Nerds, Crush, Berry Burst, Candy Clash, Extremes Super Sour Cherry Limeade, Extremes Super Sour Blue Raspberry, Extremes Super Sour Strawberry, and Extremes Fire Cherry.

Proposed text

As of 2026, Bomb Pop products include Original, Original Sugar Free, Watermelon, Crush, Nerds, Hawaiian Punch, Super Sour Cherry Limeade, Super Sour Blue Raspberry, Super Sour Strawberry, Banana Fudge, Berry Burst, Candy Clash, Goal Pop, and Shrek. Goal Pop was a limited-time soccer-themed product marketed in connection with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Reason for the change

The existing product paragraph is explicitly dated “As of 2025.” The proposed revision would update the list to reflect products documented as available in 2026 and would note the addition of Shrek to the lineup and the limited-time Goal Pop.

We have tried to limit the proposed language to factual information supported by available sources and to avoid promotional or marketing language. We recognize that product pages and retailer listings are primary or commercial sources and may not independently establish that every individual product warrants inclusion.

Because of my relationship with Bomb Pop, I would appreciate an uninvolved editor determining whether this information is appropriate for inclusion and, if so, whether the proposed product list, or a narrower version of it, and the wording, sourcing, and placement best comply with Wikipedia's policies.

Thank you for reviewing this request. MGoldsteinVA (talk) 13:20, 4 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

It is questionable whether the 2025 information should be included, given the source used. My current understanding of Wikipedia policy is that you need a source independent of the business or their commercial partners. As I am quite a new editor (comparatively), I will leave this for another editor to take an opinion on. LateFatherKarma (talk) 15:29, 27 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done Unfortunately I am not prepared to implement this change, this is too much towards promoting your clients current marketing activity. LateFatherKarma (talk) 14:58, 27 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
