Arranging Bhakti saints by Chronology
[edit]A table comprising timeline of Bhakti Saints can be added Spvijay21 (talk) 08:21, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Christianity
[edit]@Dāsānudāsa: I fail to understand the inclusion of Christianity in this article. All the references listed come from Christian outlets and the link between gospel and bhaktism seems extremely artificial.
Bhaktism is specifically Dharmic. The articles are not even remotely convincing. Either some academic sources are furnished or this segment should be scrapped altogether Varoon2542 (talk) 13:05, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Capitalization
[edit]Does anyone have thoughts on lowercase bhakti vs. uppercase Bhakti? I understand capitalizing "Bhakti movement," but most other cases should be lower case. Hemmingweigh (talk) 11:02, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- @HemmingweighI think need to see how it is used and then change to lower case. e.g. for "Bhakti poet saints", I think it can be "bhakti poet saints". But, for "northern Bhakti leaders", it can stay as uppercase because it sort of refers to those northern leaders and is part of that - "northern Bhakti leaders". Asteramellus (talk) 14:06, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Asteramellus, based on your response I think we're actually in agreement. I am going to go ahead and go through and edit wherever the capitalization does not match the usage. For example, bhakti should be lowercase here: "The Devi Mahatmya embodies Bhakti through three stories about the goddess Devi." And it should be capitalized here: "According to Brockington, the initial Tamil bhakti movement was characterized by..." Hemmingweigh (talk) 12:32, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
Notes section
[edit]There is a notes section on this page which reads like a secondary source/original research. Can anyone explain to me what the purpose of these notes are, what their sources are, and why (if they are important) they should not be part of the main text? Hemmingweigh (talk) 22:21, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Hemmingweigh do you mean note 1? Note 2 seems to be adding clarity by giving the translation from the scripture - Sri Guru Granth Sahib (though the cited link is not working). Asteramellus (talk) 22:42, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, yes this applies to note 1 more than note 2. Do you think note 1 could be deleted? Hemmingweigh (talk) 16:24, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
- yes I think it can be deleted. Asteramellus (talk) 22:25, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
