Add topicOnce, decades ago, I got off to a bad start with a New Jersey couple whose high-strung collie was named "Barclay." I fell off my chair, but it had never occured to them. Hi! Article on Clan Barclay states that "The Norman family de Berchelai arrived in England with William the Conqueror. This same family built Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire in 1153." How this relates to "The Berkeley family is unique in having an unbroken male line of descent from a Saxon ancestor before the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 to the present day." ? Whether it is the same Berkeleys? Whether this family is of Norman or Saxon descent? Gritzko
