COI edit request

I'm following WP:SCOIC to request an edit in compliance with COI guidelines. Please see my userpage for details.

• What I think should be changed:
  • this sentence: "Bending Spoons made a series of acquisitions in 2024. In January, it acquired New York City-based mobile app developer Mosaic Group from IAC Inc. and subsequently laid off its entire workforce of 330 staff members."
  • should be changed into: "Bending Spoons made a series of acquisitions in 2024. In January, it acquired the assets of New York City-based mobile app developer Mosaic Group from IAC Inc. In the context of the acquisition, IAC Inc. laid off around 330 staff."
• Why it should be changed: Bending Spoons didn't lay off the 330 staff of IAC Inc., because it didn't acquire the IAC company. As mentioned in the referenced Reuters article, Bending Spoons bought the digital assets (i.e., the apps) of IAC, and as a result of the acquisition, IAC Inc. laid off its own staff. Bloomberg's article also clearly mentions that the deal involved the intellectual property and not the rest of the company.

Concern about removal of layoff info

I am new here. I noticed that information about layoffs after Bending Spoons acquisitions, with sources, has been removed several times by anonymous editors. This looks like a pattern and I am unsure how to handle it. Could we discuss changes like this here before removal. I want to follow the right process and keep sourced content if it meets Wikipedia rules. Zegnar (talk) 15:10, 26 October 2025 (UTC)

Three IPs have removed the 85% Komoot layoff figure from DCR:

• Added by Finnish IP
• Removed by Italian IP in Special:Diff/1292924966 after 1 day, readded by Zegnar after 28 days
• Removed by Italian IP in Special:Diff/1303655084 after 3 days, readded by NL IP after 18 days
• Removed by Italian IP in Special:Diff/1318444530 after 34 days

I find this highly suspect especially given that DCR is not as unambiguously unreliable as the IPs accuse. Furthermore,

• Special:Diff/1270476860 an Italian IP correctly removes incorrect information on Evernote
• Special:Diff/1265084980 an Italian IP adds more criticism

These two could potentially be discounted as they are not problematic, the only suspicion is the country.

The WikiSpooner COI account began editing in August 2024, and made a (reasonable) COI edit very recently—September 2025 to Vimeo. All this IP editing has happened since December 2024, before that there is nothing of note. It is interesting that this ramp up in Italian activity happened around the same time the WikiSpooner account began. Also worth noting the WikiSpooner account seems to have ceased using the edit request feature since its first edit request. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 22:37, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

Bending Spoons acquires Airtable
