Requested edits: recent documentaries and awards (2025–2026)

[edit]

Disclosure: I am the subject of this article and therefore have a conflict of interest. Per WP:COIEDIT I am requesting these changes here rather than editing the article directly, and would be grateful if an independent editor could review them. All proposed content is cited to independent, reliable sources.

Request 1 — Documentaries section, add at the end:

In November 2025, Zand directed Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel's War, a documentary for ITV's Exposure strand made by his production company Zandland, featuring first-hand testimony from Israeli soldiers about the conduct of the war in Gaza.[1][2][3] The film was nominated for the 2026 British Academy Television Award for Current Affairs[4] and won Best Documentary at the 2026 Edinburgh TV Awards.[5] Soldiers' testimony from the film was cited as evidence in a June 2026 report of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory on the targeting of Palestinian children.[6] The film was also nominated for Current Affairs – International at the RTS Television Journalism Awards 2026.[7]

In August 2026, ITV broadcast Inside Iran: War & Revolution, directed by Zand, which combined footage filmed inside Iran with anonymous interviews with Iranian citizens following the protests and military conflict of 2026.[8][9][10]

Request 2 — Documentaries section, also add (US streaming):

In April 2026, Hulu premiered The Cult of NatureBoy, a four-part docuseries produced by Zandland for ABC News Studios and fronted by Zand, marking the company's first major streaming commission; it was also released internationally on Disney+.[11][12][13]

Request 2b — Documentaries section, also add (Guardians):

In 2025, Zandland produced Guardians, a short-form documentary series about wildlife rangers made with Prince William's Royal Foundation and United for Wildlife, released on BBC Earth's digital channels.[14] The series won the 2026 Rockie Award for Short Form Non-Fiction Series at the Banff World Media Festival.[15]

Request 3 — Television career section, add:

Zand is the founder of Zandland, a London-based documentary production company whose commissions include programmes for ITV, Channel 4, and Hulu/ABC News Studios in the United States, alongside its YouTube output.[16][17][18] In November 2024, Zandland was one of four independent production companies selected for Sky Documentaries' Development Partnership Fund, a development scheme run with the channel's commissioning team.[19][20] The company's series Kingpins (Channel 4, 2024) is distributed in North America on BBC Select, BBC Studios' streaming service.[21]

Request 4 — YouTube career section, add:

Films released on the channel include Why Men Rent Girlfriends, South Africa's Whites Only Town, and The Porn Addiction Taking Over the Internet. (These can be supported by citations already in the article: Williams, The Guardian, 18 March 2026; Copson, Metro, 2 October 2025; Bridge, Unilad, 3 October 2025; and Chapman, Unilad, 18 March 2026 — please reuse the existing named refs rather than adding duplicates.)

Request 5 — Awards table, add these rows:

Request 6 — Lead: consider updating "is a British journalist and YouTuber. He has received a AIB award and an RTS award." to "is a British journalist, documentary filmmaker and YouTuber, and the founder of the production company Zandland. He has received two British Academy Television Award nominations, for Kingpin Cribs (2023) and Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel's War (2026), as well as an AIB award and an RTS award." — the Kingpin Cribs nomination is already cited in the article's awards table, and the 2026 nomination is supported by the sources above.

Thank you for reviewing. Benjaminzand (talk) 12:07, 6 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Addendum — International Emmy nomination (24 September 2026): Since the above request, Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel's War has received a further nomination — for Current Affairs at the 2026 International Emmy Awards, credited to Zandland/ITV1.[26][27] Could an additional row be added to the awards table from Request 5 above:
