WikiProject Social Housing?

Why is this in the WikiProject Social Housing? The Barbican is not and never was social housing and does not belong there. Seeing as the WikiProject's aim is 'To improve and increase the number of articles about social housing projects in the United Kingdom' it seems particularly inappropriate and misleading. Would somebody please remove it or instruct me as to how I can do this myself? Haltendehand (talk) 21:05, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

Note about listing

The estate was Grade II* listed but can't remember when. We should note this with x-references to english heritage.

I put it in GII category, when I added the Golden Lane link. (It was correct in early Oct). It could be explicitly stated in article. When I lived there, some aspects of the interior were listed, mainly the kitchens and the extraordinary sliding windows. Some people had subverted the listing by glazing their balcony. 'In popular culture' section

Hiya, user @TenPoundHammer removed the 'in popular culture section'.

Wondered if we might discuss here whether it should go or stay. I think it is of value to readers to include at least some of this information. The Barbican has been an important setting in several major cultural products (film, TV, etc) and to me that is of note. Hanne Thato (talk) 23:54, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

I was a bit surprised that there wasn't a "In Popular Culture" section. I was watching The Mandalorian and wondered if a scene was filmed at the Barbican, which would make sense as that would make it consistent with Andor.

Perhaps it should be added back with just a list, not a narrative.

WP:NOTTVTROPES was cited as the reason for the deletion, but that WP is not applicable. Instead WP:POPCULTURE applies, which specifically allows for "In Popular Culture" sections.

Wikipedia is not a list of every time everything ever happened. "In popular culture" lists are inherently WP:TRIVIA. If you can refactor the info into a sourced paragraph or two of prose, then please do so. Ten Pound Hammer • ^{(What did I screw up now?)} 14:49, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
