Merge proposal
[edit]I propose merging Bachgoti Khanzada into Bachgoti Rajput because Bachgoti Khanzada already described in Bachgoti Rajput and Bachgoti Khanzada have not enough text and coverage and totally unsourced. I think the content in Bachgoti Khanzada can easily be explained in the context of Bachgoti Rajput, and a merge would not cause any article-size or weighting problems in Bachgoti Rajput. Thank you! Rename proposal. Bachgoti to Bachhil.
[edit]I propose that the article currently titled “Bachgoti Rajput” be renamed to “Bachhil Rajput”, as “Bachhil” (also spelled Bachhal, Bachal, or Baachil) is the historically and genealogically accurate name of the clan from which the Bachgotis originated. The name “Bachgoti” represents a later territorial or branch derivation, while “Bachhil” denotes the original Rajput clan recognized in early genealogical, bardic, and historical records.
Early sources such as Kayamkhan Rasau (17th century), Munhata Nainsi Ri Khyat, and references cited by colonial historians like James Tod, G.W. Briggs, and R.C. Temple identify Mata Bachhal—a Chauhan Rajput woman—as the matriarch of the Bachhil lineage, not “Bachgoti.” As seen in Gogaji's wikipedia page also.
