Automated Ball-Strike System → Automated Ball-Strike Challenge System – MLB uses "Challenge System" in its own reporting; some third parties have followed suit White 720 (talk) 22:48, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
I noticed that MLB itself refers to the system as the "Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) Challenge System", on pages such as MLB ABS 101. Google search results show that on mlb.com, this phrasing is uniformly used, although secondary sources vary on their adherence to MLB's capitalization and phrasing style. Should we rename this article to match MLB style? White 720 (talk) 22:46, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose This article also covers the use of ABS in the KBO League, which does not use a challenge. 162 etc. (talk) 00:25, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
- Does the KBO League call it an Automated Ball-Strike System, in Title Case? Seems like if we want to be all inclusive, we should lowercase and genericize the title. White 720 (talk) 00:33, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
- No objection to that. 162 etc. (talk) 01:24, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
- Korean doesn’t have casing like in English, but the English-language sources seem to use the same orthography as this article title uses now. I can mention the ABS Challenge System in the MLB subsection instead. White 720 (talk) 02:44, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
