It is a company like Centamin, that is involved in developing the mineral potential of Egypt's Eastern Desert. Provides a more balanced view of those companies operating and exploring in Egypt - there are more companies than just Centamin. It would be helpful to get the communities input in defining all those companies operating and developing the mineral resources of the country.

Alexander Nubia Inc. was incorporated in British Columbia in May 2006 and was founded by A. "Alexander" Massoud, who served as its chairman, president and chief executive officer. In March 2008, the company acquired two mineral concessions in Egypt's Eastern Desert: the Abu Marawat Concession, containing the Abu Marawat and Hamama deposits, and the Fatiri Concession. The October 2010 Chrysalis amended filing statement described the company's combined 3,115-square-kilometre land package as including "three past producing gold mines, two gold rich polymetallic deposits, one zinc-rich volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit and a number of additional early-stage targets."
Prior to Alexander Nubia acquiring the concessions, ancient workings were known in the area. Previous operators Minex and Pharaoh Gold Mines had undertaken prospecting and sampling, and Minex had conducted drilling at Abu Marawat and Hamama. After acquiring the concessions, Alexander Nubia's geological team conducted remote sensing, detailed geological mapping, rock-chip and channel sampling, geochemical work, induced-polarization and ground-magnetic surveys, and the compilation and reinterpretation of historical data. In its October 2010 public filing, the company reported that this technical work identified new targets and extensions of known targets. At Abu Marawat, the team completed detailed 1:2,000-scale geological mapping over approximately four square kilometres and mapped a 1.8-by-1.8-kilometre zone of strong alteration. It re-logged historical Minex drill core and completed a detailed model integrating the earlier drilling and surface-sampling information with the geophysical and geochemical data collected by Alexander Nubia to identify potential drilling areas. The company's induced-polarization survey also outlined a buried target adjacent to the known Abu Marawat mineralization measuring approximately 1.3 kilometres long and up to 400 metres wide. At Hamama, the company's induced-polarization survey outlined a target indicative of a previously unknown sulphide zone extending for approximately 2.9 kilometres in two branches and reaching an indicated width of up to 50 metres. Mapping also traced the favourable VMS horizon for an additional approximately 1.2 kilometres to the northeast and approximately three kilometres to the west, while weaker induced-polarization anomalies extending across approximately 600 metres northwest of the known mineralization warranted further investigation. At Miranda North, induced-polarization surveys outlined a possible sulphide-rich quartz-vein target approximately 900 metres long and open to the north. At Miranda South, the surveys outlined an unexplained 600-by-600-metre anomaly open to the north, south and east, together with two narrower anomalies having the expected signature of sulphide-rich auriferous quartz veins. At Semna, the team completed detailed mapping and sampling of eight or nine auriferous quartz veins and collected approximately 150 additional samples in November 2009. Mapping in the corridor between Miranda and Abu Marawat identified at least two major shear zones and several previously unidentified listwanite zones near Miranda. The filing concluded that the preliminary exploration program had developed viable drill targets at Abu Marawat, Hamama, Miranda and Semna. Reconnaissance mapping was also completed at Abu Qarahish and Sir Bakis.
Upon completion of the reverse takeover, Chrysalis Capital VII Corporation was renamed Alexander Nubia International Inc., whose shares began trading publicly in October 2010 under the ticker AAN. In June 2016, Alexander Nubia International Inc. announced that it had changed its name to Aton Resources Inc., effective 26 June 2016, while retaining the ticker AAN.
