Question about the location of Haughead in East Dunbartonshire or in Berwickshire?

[edit]

The article states that Alexander Shields’s father was “a miller of Haughead in the parish of Earlston, Berwickshire.” However, the link to Haughead takes one to the statement that Haughead is “a small village two miles from Lennoxtown in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland, historically part of Stirlingshire until 1975, when it became part of Strathclyde...” The link to the parish of Earlston, Berwickshire shows its location much farther southeast in the Scottish Borders. Both cannot be true, and I am trying to confirm the actual location of the birth of Alexander Shields. Ksschultz (talk) 16:12, 7 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
