Unfortunately this page has been created with a typographical error in its title: it is Macara not MacAra. Presumably changing this will be a bit of a fiddle involving the creating of a "points here" page, a distraction which I am presently unwilling to submit myself too. But it's wrong nevertheless, as even the majority of the references at the foot of the page currently testify.  Preceding unsigned comment added by LaFolleCycliste (talkcontribs) 05:00, 31 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Changed his father’s & grandfather to being Church of Scotland Ministers. It matches the Guardian article and reality. “Presbyterian” could mean Church of Scotland; United Free Church of Scotland; Free Church of Scotland or any other groupings!  Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.124.181.2 (talk) 03:03, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Who was the original author of this article? The comment “ Growing up he witnessed the public health effects of the slums in Glasgow as well as the health problems of the dockers and miners.” does not make sense! I am originally from Irvine. “Growing up” suggests that during his childhood studying at Irvine Royal Academy he was regularly making a trip up to Glasgow and back. It is around an hour each way!

If you follow the link it suggests that the first hand witnessing might have occurred at a post 18 stage of learning. I have deleted this as I doubt the “firsthand witness” occurred during his childhood.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.124.181.2 (talk) 03:18, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
