Alex or Àlex?

Our article is titled "Àlex Soler-Roig" (i.e. with an accent on the A), but the following sources which use accents for other drivers' names, spell his first name as "Alex" (i.e. with no accent): FORIX, driverdb.com, racingsportscars.com, historicracing.com and StatsF1 (oldracingcars.com, motorsportmagazine.com and grandprix.com also spell it "Alex" but they don't use accents for any drivers' names). But perhaps most convincing (to me) is Spanish Wikipedia, which spells it "Alex" - I would expect them to have it right. Thoughts? DH85868993 (talk) 06:43, 17 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

It was changed with no edit summary, so it's hard to see what the justification was. The Catalan usage of the name "Alexander" can be shortened to "Aleix", "Àlex" or "Alex" – all are valid options. So surely it should just depend on reliable sources. Apart from the rather comprehensive list you've detailed, his racing overalls, cars and, perhaps most importantly, his autograph, never feature the accent.
