Requested move 1 November 2025
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: not moved. Significant amount of opposition and no supports, and there can be an argument for WP:SNOW. Additionally, the last comment can be interpreted as a withdrawal of sorts, and there has been no further discussion on this topic. I am closing this discussion early due to this. AirZeta → AIRZETA – The official corporate name is “AIRZETA,” in all uppercase letters, as registered on all legal documents including our business registration and all official airworthiness certificates. After the acquisition of Asiana Airlines’ cargo division, our company is officially and legally registered as “AIRZETA” in every regulatory and contractual context. This is not merely branding, but the legal and exclusive name style, which is consistent across licenses, contracts, and international documentation. I have uploaded a version of our business registration that has been carefully redacted to remove sensitive personal and confidential information for privacy and security reasons. This redacted version preserves only the essential information proving the official company name “AIRZETA” in compliance with Wikipedia’s content and privacy guidelines.
If further verification is required, I can provide additional documentation upon request. Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,

- Oppose - we should not be allowing editors with a COI to make these sort of requests in my opinion. That's quite aside from my opposition on principle to all uppercase titles. Danners430 tweaks made 15:18, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Dear editors,
- I appreciate the concerns regarding potential conflict of interest and style guidelines. However, I would like to respectfully highlight critical practical reasons why the official company name AIRZETA in all uppercase letters must be reflected accurately in this Wikipedia article.
- First, AIRZETA is not a mere marketing stylization but the legally registered name of our corporation as documented on all official paperwork, including business registration and aviation airworthiness certificates. This is verifiable through government and regulatory documents.
- Second, adherence to this official naming is not merely a matter of editorial preference but a matter of significant public interest. Due to inconsistent or incorrect capitalization in widely referenced documents, we have encountered substantial operational difficulties. These include delays in customs clearance and import processes at international airports, causing inconvenience to cargo customers.
- Most importantly, and most concerning, such delays have resulted in urgent aircraft spare parts arriving late — sometimes by more than a day. These delays risk compromising aircraft safety, which is unacceptable in the aviation industry where timing is critical.
- Therefore, accurately reflecting the legally registered company name AIRZETA in Wikipedia helps prevent confusion and promotes clarity in a critical sector affecting public safety and commerce.
- In conclusion, this correction serves the broader public good by aligning Wikipedia’s reference information with official, verifiable sources. While I acknowledge Wikipedia’s style policies, the unique circumstances surrounding AIRZETA call for an exception to usual capitalization norms based on verifiable legal documentation and the real-world consequences outlined above.
- Thank you for your understanding and careful consideration.
- Best regards,

- No. I’m not changing my vote on the basis of an editor with such a huge CoI. Danners430 tweaks made 17:11, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- I agree COI is a valid concern. That’s why I have been fully transparent about my role and identity.
- I am not asking for the name change to hide behind anonymity. I openly declare my position.
- This is about the public good—making sure Wikipedia reflects accurate and official information, especially in a field where safety is critical.
- Please consider the special nature of aviation safety and the importance of precise official naming when reviewing this request.
- Thank you for your understanding and careful thought. Duke of Seoul (talk) 21:04, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- For the last time, aviation safety is the company's problem - it has absolutely zip and zero to do with how an article is named on Wikipedia. If you're basing your safety process of the name of this article, then your safety regulator will want a word. Danners430 tweaks made 21:08, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose. Please see our guidelines on Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies) § Capitalization, which refers back to another one of guidelines, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks. We usually follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, regardless of the preference of the company or trademark owners – except in the rare case when a strong majority of independent reliable sources copy that company or trademark owner's preference. This rule also complies with our policy found on Wikipedia:Article titles § Use commonly recognizable names, where we prefer to use the most commonly used name that is most used by independent reliable sources, not necessarily the subject's official name as an article title. So far, it seems that most independent reliable sources use "AirZeta" or "Air Zeta" (with a space in the middle), not the all-caps stylization preferred by this company. Zzyzx11 (talk) 16:13, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment. I understand the rules, but this case is different. AIRZETA is the exact legal name, on all official documents and certificates. This is not a style choice. It causes real problems when the name is wrong. Shipments delay. Customers complain. Urgent aircraft parts arrive late. This hurts safety.
- Wikipedia’s goal is accuracy and reliability. Using the official name helps prevent confusion. Many independent sources use AIRZETA in official reports and filings, even if some media use mixed case.
- We respect Wikipedia’s guidelines, but public safety and fact accuracy must come first. Please reconsider based on the facts, not just style.
- Thanks for your time.

- Guess what - Wikipedia has absolutely zero to do with
Shipments delay. Customers complain. Urgent aircraft parts arrive late.
That’s a problem for the company - it has precisely nothing to do with Wikipedia. Danners430 tweaks made 17:12, 1 November 2025 (UTC)- Just to clarify: I’m not saying Wikipedia causes these issues. I believe Wikipedia can help by providing the most accurate info possible, which helps everyone—from companies to users—to avoid confusion. It’s about sharing reliable data, not blaming the platform.
- Thanks for the discussion. Duke of Seoul (talk) 21:00, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose per WP:TITLETM, MOS:ALLCAPS, MOS:TM, WP:OFFICIAL. Wikipedia savors its independence and doesn't care much whether something is "official" or not. I don't understand why some people think that we will just do what companies want. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:10, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, BarrelProof, for your thoughts. I understand Wikipedia values independence and style guidelines.
- But aviation is special — even small errors in official names can impact safety. Delays in shipping critical parts because of confusion can endanger lives. This request isn’t about doing what a company wants but about showing the legally correct name to help reduce risk and confusion in a safety-critical sector. I hope the community can consider this key context and help get the right name on Wikipedia. Thanks for your consideration. Duke of Seoul (talk) 21:07, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Copy and pasting a response given to another editor isn't going to help your cause. Stop talking "safety", as we quite frankly don't care. Wikipedia articles are named based on policy and manual of style. Danners430 tweaks made 21:11, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- I respect and appreciate your strict adherence to Wikipedia’s naming policies. To address the concerns properly, if AIRZETA is adopted widely by independent reliable sources like major media and industry reports, then Wikipedia’s article title can reflect that change. Until then, the current title remains per common usage and consensus. Thanks for your guidance on following policy–it keeps Wikipedia strong and neutral. ~2025-31068-66 (talk) 21:25, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

- Moreover, I see Air Zeta in The Korea Herald, Korea JoongAn Daily, Aviation Source News (AVSN). CAPA, Aviation A2Z, India Seatrade News. That form more closely resembles ordinary English, per MOS:TM, and I wonder if we should use it here. Those publications don't seem worried that using some lowercase letters and inserting a space could cause the airline to have some safety problem. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:18, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose per MOS:ALLCAPS. 162 etc. (talk) 17:30, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose per relevant guidelines pointed out by others, but definitely redirect that title to the current one. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 17:52, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

- I finally understand that Wikipedia reflects the external reality rather than creating it. Article titles are determined by the most commonly used names found in reliable independent sources, not by official or internal naming preferences. Therefore, Wikipedia acts as a faithful mirror of public usage, not the underlying cause or entity itself. Thank you for educating me. ~2025-31068-66 (talk) 21:29, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
