- Just added the rebranding of Workspace ONE - linked to a blog article as the actual official release information from VMWare itself is hidden behind a login page. 89.167.129.49 (talk) 15:16, 10 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request to merge AirWatch page with Workspace ONE UEM page

[edit]

Per WP:MERGE, I propose merging the legacy brand history from AirWatch into Workspace ONE UEM (currently in Draft). The product is now developed under the Workspace ONE UEM name, while AirWatch exists as the historical brand.

Key sources:

  • VMware acquired AirWatch in 2014 for US$1.54B.[1]
  • Rebranded to Workspace ONE UEM in May 2018.[2]
  • EUC division sold to KKR and rebranded as Omnissa in 2024.[3]

COI disclosure: I am affiliated with Omnissa and will not edit directly; seeking consensus per WP:COI. — InfoArchitect2026 (talk) 16:07, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

If it's true that the draft incorporates text written by a large language model, then it should not be used at all. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 02:27, 29 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Closing on procedural grounds; article space to draft merge is invalid. If the other article makes it to main space, then please do consider re-proposing. Klbrain (talk) 11:58, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: citation and framing fixes for AirWatch article

[edit]

Disclosure of intent: I am a paid contractor for Omnissa via Insight Global, disclosed at User:KD revisions. I am not directly editing the article.

I am requesting three small changes. They are all housekeeping and include sources.

1. Replacing the bayton.org citation Reason: The 2018 rename is cited to a personal blog (bayton.org), used twice, ref name bayton-2019. This is self-published and doesn't meet WP:RS. Request: Please swap both uses for VMware's own announcement of the rename. This would support the same sentence. <ref name="vmware-94">{{cite web |last=Jernigan |first=Hannah |title=What's New in Workspace ONE UEM 9.4 |url=https://blogs.vmware.com/euc/2018/05/deep-dive-workspace-one-uem-9-4-features.html |website=VMware End-User Computing Blog |publisher=VMware |date=2018-05-21 |access-date=2026-09-17 |quote=To align with the Workspace ONE family of solutions, VMware AirWatch will be known as Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM).}}</ref> As a note, this is a primary source, but it's the record of the rename and only supports the rename date and name.

2. Updating the short description. Reason: The current description says "Enterprise mobility management software company, acquired by VMware in 2014." That lead already follows the product through to Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM. So, the description lags the article. Request: Please change to {{Short description|Enterprise mobility management software, now Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM}}

This will describe the subject as the article covers it, per WP:SDESC.

3. Tag an unsourced sentence. Reason: "AirWatch UK Limited was dissolved on 24 April 2018" has no citation. Request: Please add {{citation needed|date=September 2026}} after that sentence. No removal is requested, just the addition.

Note: I'm happy to adjust sources or wording if the reviewer has preference.

Edit request: add Workspace ONE UEM (2018 to present) section to History

[edit]

I am a paid contractor for Omnissa through Insight Global, disclosed at User:KD revisions. I am not editing directly. This is my second request on this page and does not depend on the first one being applied.

This requested addition should go after the AirWatch UK sentence as a level-3 heading under History.
