"the two companies had nothing in common"?

@Settignano, I'm not convinced that the two companies are unrelated. The company sold off most of its fleet to UTA but continued to exist as a charter operator before being bought out and relaunched. See for example which states Après la vente au milieu des années 1950 de la quasi-totalité de sa flotte et de son personnel à UAT [...], Aigle Azur vivote, en maintenant une petite activité charter. Furthermore, I don't think "Societé Aigle Azur S.A." is correct as the full name; the only hits for that exact wording are talking about "la société [lower case, i.e. just a descriptor not part of the name] Aigle Azur S.A."

Also, note that you should use {{In use}} to flag editing-in-progress sessions, which should not usually last for more than a couple of hours. Please try to avoid leaving articles in an intermediate state overnight, for example. Rosbif73 (talk) 07:01, 23 April 2026 (UTC)

First of all thanks for your comments. Let me answer.

1 - I have quite a comprehensive library of aviation books both in English and in French languages. Let'say that most relevant books about civil/commercial aviation are at hand. I have traced no connection between the old Aigle Azur and Lucas Aviation. Maybe the old Aigle Azur went on with minimal activity but - to my knowledge - was no longer listed as an active airline.

2 - Indeed the "new" corporate name might have been slightly different as I have found it labelled "Aigle Azur-Compagnie de Transports Aériens S.A." but I did use the first one (Société etc.)

3 - I totally endorse your suggestion to use {{In use}} while working on a page. Italian Wikipedia, from which I come, used {{WIP}} = work in progress. Yesterday it was a long correction affair and I had to stop it for family priorities. I will finish today. After which I will be happy to get further comments from you.
