Merger proposal

I propose to merge Verified badge (Foo) into Account verification (Bar). I think that the content in the Foo article can easily be explained in the context of Bar, and the Bar article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Foo will not cause any problems as far as article size is concerned. ghouston (talk) 21:18, 21 March 2019 (UTC)

COI edit request: § Behavioral verification is unreferenced and names no method

I have a conflict of interest here and am requesting rather than making this edit.

The issue: The § Behavioral verification subsection is three sentences long and carries no reference at all, including the sentence Behaviors to detect include those of sockpuppets, bots, cyborgs, trolls, spammers, vandals, and sources and spreaders of fake news, disinformation and election interference. The subsection also names no method: it says what behavioral verification detects and what its output can be, but nothing about how the detection is done, so a reader has nothing to follow up. Every other subsection in this article either cites a source or describes a mechanism concretely enough to check; this one does neither.

Proposed change: Add one sentence at the end of the subsection, after the sentence ending "...or offer corroborating evidence for processes of account verification.":

I have restricted the added sentence to social bots because that is what the source covers. It does not support the full list of behaviors in the sentence quoted above, which also includes sockpuppets, spammers and vandals, so I am not proposing it as a reference for that sentence.
