Restored text

[edit]

I just restored (diff) some text which was previously deleted (diff). It seems worth a bit more explanation than is suitable as an edit summary:

The phrase noted as the reason for deletion (“ignorant and unfortunate“) is from the next passage, below this one. The two passages address the same matter, but have separate sources. So the first passage is appropriately compared to its own source, not just to a different passage from a different source.

Additionally, these particular passages are about Flexner’s views. Reporting how he communicated them is necessary, and does not imply that his views and/or his choice of words were factually accurate. (Not to mention, ignoring stereotypes doesn’t make them go away – it enables them to thrive unchecked.) 2600:1001:B10C:E5DF:E5B6:C9FC:C9B9:E9D4 (talk) 05:05, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
