[edit]In response to the removal of this text, I am adding the quote from Prussin 1980[1] for verification. On page 80, he writes:
In 1820, after the closure of the war with Gyaman, Dupuis, the other observer of the time, observed the Palace, now become "castle", under construction. Although the King's desire to emulate a European model is voiced in reference, in point of fact the building process described by Dupuis was the traditional wattle technology...

What Dupuis recorded was merely the protective shroud of palisaded walls, which to this day are a pre-requisite to the construction process of any sacred artifact or structure. The palisading is removed only upon completion of the more permanent structure and only after appropriate sacrifices have been performed for its consecration."
