[edit]Should this entry be subsumed by the Čech cohomology entry, possibly with a redirect to a subsection there? As written currently, it appears that the Cech complex was invented for the purposes of TDA, which is inaccurate in many ways (and by about 80 years).Dea13 (talk) 03:24, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, indeed. I've studied Čech cohomology back in the day, and never once did the expression "point cloud" show up in a textbook. So this feels a bit like some OR from a math student who went on to work in robotics and sensors ??? 67.198.37.16 (talk) 06:59, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
