Sekule (Hungarian: Székelyfalva) is a village and municipality in Senica District in the Trnava Region of western Slovakia.
Etymology
[edit]The name is derived from the ethnonym Székelys (Slovak: Sikuli), one of the tribes who guarded the frontier area.[4]
History
[edit]In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1402.
Geography
[edit]The municipality lies at an altitude of 158 metres (518 ft)[2] and covers an area of 23.24 km2 (8.97 sq mi) (2025).[5]
