Sarah Bossard (born 1982) is a Sri Lankan–born Swiss film and television producer and domestic partner of Alice Weidel, current co-chairwoman of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party since June 2022.[1][2]

Biography

Bossard was born in 1982 in Sri Lanka and was adopted by a Swiss couple.[3] She studied at the Los Angeles Film School.[2] She is a member of the Independent Producers and founder her own company Kopernikus Films AG in 2019.[2][4]

Personal life

Bossard is openly lesbian and has been in a relationship with Alice Weidel since 2009.[5][6][7] In the early 2010s, Bossard encouraged Weidel to enter politics and act on her concerns she constantly ranted about.[8] Since 2019, they have lived with their two adopted sons in Einsiedeln, Switzerland.[1][9]

In October 2023, Bossards family left their apartment in Berlin for constantly receiving death threats.[10][11] In 2026, their eldest son was harassed in the school, calling him a "Nazi" due to Weidel's political position.[3]
