Pushkar Mukewar is an Indian entrepreneur, the co-founder and chief executive officer of Drip Capital, a digital trade finance and B2B commerce company headquartered in Palo Alto, California.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Mukewar was born and raised in a small town in central India, in a community of small business families, an experience he has credited with shaping his interest in small business credit.[2][3] He earned an undergraduate degree in computer science in Pune before moving to the United States, where he completed a master's degree in computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology.[4] He later earned an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he met his eventual co-founder Neil Kothari.[5]
Career
[edit]Mukewar began his career at Capital One, developing credit risk analytics for its consumer lending business, and subsequently worked as a consultant at Oliver Wyman on financial services engagements in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.[5][3] After returning to India, he worked as a venture capitalist at Saama Capital, where he worked with Indian startups including Paytm, Snapdeal, and Bluestone.[3]
In 2015, Mukewar and Kothari were accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2015 batch with Drip Capital, initially focused on lending to small businesses in the United States.[6] The company was incorporated in November 2016 and pivoted to financing small and medium-sized exporters in emerging markets, beginning with India.[7]
Under Mukewar, Drip Capital raised a US$25 million Series B led by Accel in 2019,[7] US$175 million in equity and debt in 2021,[8] and US$113 million in 2024 from investors including GMO Payment Gateway, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and the International Finance Corporation.[1] In November 2025, the company secured a US$50 million committed credit facility from TD Bank to support its buyer finance operations in the United States and Canada,[9] and as of April 2026 it had facilitated more than US$9 billion in trade finance transactions.[10] The company is a member of the World Economic Forum's Unicorn Community.[11][12]

In January 2026, Mukewar signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Maharashtra at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, under which Drip Capital committed to disburse ₹10,000 crore in collateral-free trade finance to Maharashtra-based MSMEs between 2026 and 2031.[13]
