Neeru Dhanda (born 25 May 2000)[1] is an Indian sport shooter who competes in trap shooting. In 2025, she won the gold medal in the women's trap event at the 38th National Game. She won the women's trap individual and team gold medals at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championships.[2]
She also won the bronze medal in the mixed team trap event with Vivaan Kapoor at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2026.[3][4]
In July 2026, she won the women's trap title at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Lonato del Garda.[5]
Early life
[edit]She began shooting after watching her cousin Lakshay Sheoran win the silver medal in the men's trap event at the 2018 Asian Games.[6]
Career
[edit]Before winning the gold medal at the 2022 National Games, Dhanda competed at the 2022 ISSF World Championships in Osijek, Croatia, where she finished 29th in the women's trap event.[6]
In May 2025, Dhanda won the women's trap event at the Second Shotgun National Trials held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.[7][8]
In 2025, Dhanda won the gold medal in the women's trap event at the 38th National Games.[9][10]
She also won her fourth consecutive women's trap gold medal at the Khelo India University Games, representing Guru Nanak Dev University.[11]
In July 2025, Dhanda reached her first ISSF World Cup final in the women's trap event at Lonato, Italy.[12][13]
Dhanda won the women's trap individual gold medal and team gold at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championships in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.[14][2]
Dhanda later won the women's trap title at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions, she also won the women's trap team gold medal as part of the Madhya Pradesh team.[15][16]
In 2026, Dhanda and Vivaan Kapoor won the bronze medal in the mixed team trap event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan.[3][4][17]
