Association Mouloudia Sportive Assa (الجمعية الرياضية مولودية آسا), commonly known as Mouloudia Assa, is a Moroccan association football club based in Assa, in the Assa-Zag Province of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.[1] Founded in 2006, the club competes in the Amateur National, the third tier of the Moroccan football league system.[2]
History
[edit]Foundation and Early Years (2006–2022)
[edit]Mouloudia Assa was established in 2006 to serve as the primary football institution for youth in the desert province of Assa-Zag in southern Morocco.[3] Initially playing in the regional leagues of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, the club gradually climbed into the national amateur divisions under the governance of the Ligue Nationale du Football Amateur (LNFA).
Championship Title and Promotion (2022–23)
[edit]The 2022–23 campaign marked the most successful season in the club's history. Mouloudia Assa finished at the top of the South Group in Amateurs I with 67 points (20 wins, 7 draws, 3 losses), earning direct promotion to the third-tier Amateur National.[4]
On 3 June 2023, Mouloudia Assa faced North Group champions US Yacoub El Mansour in the national championship final played at the Stade El Abdi in El Jadida. AMSA secured a 1–0 victory courtesy of a 42nd-minute goal by Abderrazak Khreichi, crowning the club overall national champions of the First Amateur Division.[5]
Amateur National Era (2023–present)
[edit]Since its promotion in 2023, Mouloudia Assa has consolidated its position in the third division, hosting clubs across the country at its venue in Assa.[6]
Stadium
[edit]The club plays its home matches at the Stade Municipal d'Assa (الملعب البلدي بآسا), located in central Assa.[7] The stadium features an artificial turf surface and seats approximately 3,000 spectators.
