Module talk:DYK scrutiny
Add topicModule may be attempting to get content of pages that do not exist
[edit]It appears that this module sometimes attempts to get the content of pages that do not exist, in the line that reads local ok, nomContent = pcall(function() return nomTitle:getContent() end). Today, this appears to be causing the code {{DYK scrutiny/helper|prep={{Template:Did you know/Queue/LocalUpdateTimes/PrepCalculator|prepoffset=2}}}} to transclude Template:Did you know nominations/Between the Covers (book), which does not exist. This transclusion, if I am correct, causes transclusions of nonexistent templates to appear on a report. If I am correct about all of this, and the module could check for the existence of pages before attempting to scan their contents, I think that might help. – Jonesey95 (talk) 06:53, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for catching the issue. And yes, you were correct; that was the cause of the bug. Rjjiii (talk) 02:41, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
About some incorrect dates
[edit]@Rjjiii: At the moment, {{DYK scrutiny}} is telling me that prep 2 will run on February 20, which seems odd, as queue 1 ahead of it is running on February 23. (: —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 03:26, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
- oof, thanks, Rjjiii (talk) 07:47, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
