Magic word "int" for MediaWiki:ipb-hardblock

Regarding Special:Diff/1315059756 – I propose to replace ''Apply block to logged-in users from this IP address'' with ''{{int:ipb-hardblock}}'' to use magic word {{int:}} with the system message MediaWiki:ipb-hardblock directly. —andrybak (talk) 04:53, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

"mark" formatting of "Blocks of governmental IP ranges"
[edit]This is arguably one of the least important parts of the special page and the new yellow highlighting creates the incorrect impression of this text being relevant to the current block. HouseBlaster has changed it from red-on-background to black-on-yellow (in most browsers) by semantically correctly applying a "mark" tag instead of a colorized "span". As a result, however, the highlighting became too intense for my personal liking. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:51, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- I'll wait to here from HB on this, but if there is issue with the highlighting, we could just go back to the red colouring. Primefac (talk) 22:53, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess overriding the default style of the "mark" tag to be red-on-background again would already be fine. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:58, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- I'm fine with returning to a shade of red. My main priority was fixing the color contrast to be accessible. Would using the Codex token
color-destructivework? It would display like this, which is accessible and works with dark mode. Best, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:20, 4 June 2026 (UTC)- Works for me. Primefac (talk) 09:08, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
