Limedale, Indiana

Baker 1995, p. 198 clearly states that this was a village, actually called Greencastle Junction. That's its name in the Lewis Publishing county history, too, and that history explains why: it was where the TH&IR and LNA&CR crossed. Limedale was its post-office's name. (February 2025) |

Limedale is an unincorporated community in Greencastle Township, Putnam County, in the U.S. state of Indiana.[1]
History
[edit]Limedale was laid out in 1864, and named for the lime quarries in the area.[2] A post office called Limedale was established in 1873, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1909.[3]
