"Kabataang Pinoy" is a Filipino song by rock band The Itchyworms, released in 2006 as the theme song of the first teen edition of the Philippine reality television program Pinoy Big Brother.[1] The original Itchyworms recording was later reused as the theme song of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus in 2008.[2]
The song has subsequently been recorded by several Filipino acts. Nameless Kids and Jonathan Manalo released a version in 2021 in connection with the tenth season of Pinoy Big Brother. BINI and SB19 recorded another version in 2022 for the Teen Edition of Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10, while BGYO and Cloud 7 released a new rendition in 2025 for Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.
Background and original version
[edit]"Kabataang Pinoy" was introduced in 2006 as the theme song of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition. Contemporary coverage identified it among the songs that followed the Itchyworms' move into the mainstream after the release of their second studio album, Noontime Show.[1]
The recording was included on the Commercial Break Edition of Noontime Show. Digital release metadata lists "Kabataang Pinoy" as part of the second disc of the edition and credits Universal Records Philippines as the label.[3]
The original Itchyworms version remained associated with the teen editions of Pinoy Big Brother after its 2006 introduction. In 2008, PEP.ph reported that "Kabataang Pinoy" again served as the theme song for Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus.[2] The song was also featured among the franchise's principal theme songs during a 2010 reunion of former Pinoy Big Brother housemates.[4]
The original recording was later included on the 2008 compilation album Musika Sa Bahay Ni Kuya: The Best of Pinoy Big Brother Hits.[5]

[edit]Nameless Kids recorded a new version of "Kabataang Pinoy" with Jonathan Manalo in 2021 in connection with the tenth season of Pinoy Big Brother.[6] The digital single was released on November 26, 2021.[7]
A lyric video for the recording was released on November 25, 2021. Nameless Kids and Manalo arranged the recording, Theo Martel handled mixing and mastering, and Manalo produced it.[8]

In March 2022, BINI and SB19 announced a new version of "Kabataang Pinoy" for the Teen Edition of Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10.[9] It was the first recording collaboration between the two P-pop groups.[10]
The version was released as a digital single on March 18, 2022.[11] BINI and SB19 performed the song during the opening of the teen edition the following day.[12] Nameless Kids, Theo Martel and Manalo arranged the version, while Manalo produced the recording.[13]
The music video for the BINI and SB19 version was released on March 21, 2022. The documentary-style video follows the two groups during rehearsals for their live Pinoy Big Brother performance.[14]
Manila Bulletin reported that promotional hashtags for the release trended on Twitter, its music and lyric videos received more than 238,000 combined YouTube views within a week, and the recording was included in Spotify Philippines' New Music Friday playlist.[14]
Lyric and Beat version
[edit]Another version of "Kabataang Pinoy" appeared in the 2022 musical series Lyric and Beat, which featured new interpretations of songs associated with Jonathan Manalo.[15]
The soundtrack recording was performed by Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Jeremy G, Angela Ken and Sheena Belarmino. It was released on August 12, 2022, as part of Lyric and Beat, Vol. 01 (Original Soundtrack).[16]

BGYO and Cloud 7 recorded a new version of "Kabataang Pinoy" for Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 and first performed it during the season's opening on October 25, 2025.[17] An official lyric video was released on the same day.[18]
The version was released as a digital single on October 31, 2025.[19] Billboard Philippines later identified it as BGYO's collaboration with Cloud 7 before the group's 2026 single "Fresh".[20]
Tommy Katigbak and Jonathan Manalo arranged the recording. Manalo also wrote new rap lyrics, handled vocal production and produced the track, while Gab Tagadtad handled mixing and mastering.[18]
The BGYO and Cloud 7 version was nominated for Collaboration of the Year at the 2025 P-pop Music Awards.[21]
