Jump Space is an upcoming cooperative PvE video game developed and published by a Swedish company called Keepsake Games. It was released in early access in September 2025 on the Steam storefront and Xbox consoles.[3]
In Jump Space, players transition seamlessly between crewing the ship and exploring on foot, including spacewalk. Engage in battle both on the ground and in space. As a survivor of the group called “The Resistance Coalition”, players must scavenge through territory and planets each round to thin enemy forces, rescue survivor ships, and collect weapons, gear, and spare parts to upgrade until taking down the enemy mothership before returning to base.
Gameplay
[edit]Jump Space is a cooperative player versus environment (PvE) video game for up to four players in first-person perspective. The story is set in a sci-fi deep space setting, where the player will play as a survivor of a resistance group fighting against cybernetic enemies. To achieve their goal, survivors engage in a continuous cycle of space navigation, ship management, and planet exploration. Throughout the path, resistors need to pilot the ship through hazards. Upon arriving at a destination, the game experience switches from space combat to on-foot combat to complete the main mission. After battling the enemies and gathering valuable salvage, survivors return to the ship and go back to base, where they use these resources to upgrade the ship and personal gear, preparing players for the next mission.
The game does not have specific roles, allowing players to dynamically adapt and exchange classes such as piloting, engineering, controlling turrets, and ground deployment; roles will be switched simultaneously depending on the immediate situational need of the ship. In solo mode, players will be accompanied by a robotic AI assistant named “Buddy,” who can be assigned to help you using defensive turrets or maintenance and internal repair.[4]
