Jenipher Deborah Chilunga Kaferankhande is a Malawian politician who became the MP for Zomba Nsondole Constituency in 2025.

Chilunga became the MP for Zomba Nsondole Constituency in the 2009 election representing the Democratic Progressive Party She was thousands of votes in front of her nearest rival.[1]

In 2012, she was the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Welfare.[2]

President Joyce Banda made Chilunga the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Management. She and Banda were concerned about the annual 2.8% reduction of trees and they planned for 60 million to be planted during the 2012/13 season.[3] In 2013 the tenth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests took place in Istanbul.[4] Chilunga was there discussing with other countries how forest management could mitigate climate change.[5]

At the beginning of July 2013 President Joyce Banda rearranged and trimmed her cabinet. Chilunga was one of the casualties. Halima Daud(i) was one of the new appointments and she became Minister of Environment and Climate Change Management.[6]

In 2024 she was a board member of the Malawi Digital Broadcast Network Ltd.[7]
