Fort Revegler
Fort Revegler, sometimes called the Revegler Roadblock, is an Austro-Hungarian fortification built in Northern Italy. Work started in June 1860 and was finished in May 1861. It’s job was to block the Storo-Tione road.[1] Revegler is the only fort of its group to have a second floor.[1] Revegler’s armament was 3 8 cm guns according to 1 source.[2] Another source states 2 12 cm guns, 1 8 cm gun, and 2 30 cm spotlights.[1]
Post-World War I to today
[edit]At the beginning of the war with Italy in May 1915, the guns were removed and it was turned into a warehouse.[3] In November 1918, the fort was occupied by Italian infantry and was closed until after World War II.[1] It was demolished to widen the road and rebuild the monastery of Condino.[2]
