World Foosball Tour (WFT) is an American professional foosball tournament organization founded in 2025 by professional foosball player and promoter Ryan Moore. Moore operates the organization with his wife, Iveta Moore.[1]
The tour was created following the retirement of longtime tournament promoter Mary Moore and the conclusion of her International Foosball Promotions (IFP) operation. In 2024, Mary Moore announced that she was stepping away from tournament promotion and turning operations over to her son Ryan Moore, who subsequently launched the World Foosball Tour for the 2025 season.[2][3]
WFT organizes professional and amateur competitions in the United States, including the Tour Kick Off, Hall of Fame Classic, National Championships and World Championships, as well as affiliated state and regional tournaments.[4]
History
[edit]Formation
[edit]World Foosball Tour developed from the tournament infrastructure previously operated by International Foosball Promotions. Mary Moore had promoted major professional foosball tournaments for several decades before announcing her retirement in 2024.[5]
WFT held its first event, the Tour Kick Off, in Lexington, Kentucky, from January 30 to February 2, 2025.[6]
During its first season, WFT also organized the annual Hall of Fame Classic in Las Vegas, National Championships and World Championships in New Orleans, while state championships and other regional events contributed to the tour's competitive schedule.[7]
World Championships
[edit]The WFT World Championships of Foosball have been held in New Orleans, Louisiana, during the first two seasons of the tour. The 2025 World Championships were held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans and carried a $155,000 advertised prize pool.[8]
The 2026 WFT World Championships returned to the Hyatt Regency New Orleans from September 2–6, 2026. The tournament advertised $175,000 in cash, prizes and awards and included professional, amateur, women's, senior and junior divisions.[9] New Orleans & Company also promoted the event and described it as featuring the largest guaranteed prize pool in WFT history.[10]
The major open and women's events at the World Championships include Open Singles, Open Doubles, Open Mixed Doubles, Women's Singles and Women's Doubles.
World champions
[edit]The following table lists the champions of the five principal open and women's events at the WFT World Championships.
| Year | Open Singles | Open Doubles | Women's Singles | Women's Doubles | Open Mixed Doubles |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | Tommy Yore | Mario Ariganello / Kane Gabriel | Sullivan Rue | Sullivan Rue / Isabelle Stelly | Tommy Yore / Hannah Bufkin[11] |
| 2026 | Tony Spredeman | Jacob Balcos / Erik Hueltner | Isabelle Stelly | Hannah Bufkin / Linda Ly | Hannah Bufkin / Tommy Yore[12] |
Competition structure
[edit]WFT events include divisions for players of different rankings and age groups. Events are offered across classifications including Master, Pro, Expert, Amateur, Rookie and Beginner, with separate women's, junior and senior competitions at major tournaments.[13]
The World Championships serve as the conclusion of the WFT competitive season. Following the World Championships, ranking points reset for the next season, while players who have reached promotion thresholds advance to their new classification.[14]
WFT distinguishes between major tournaments operated by the organization and state championship events hosted by local promoters. State events are incorporated into the WFT points and ranking system.[15]
Television and media
[edit]In 2026, a program featuring the WFT World Championships aired nationally on ESPN2 as part of ESPN8: The Ocho. ESPN's tenth-anniversary edition of The Ocho aired across ESPN networks from August 6–9, 2026.[16]
WFT also produces livestream coverage of its major tournaments, including multiple streamed tables at the World Championships.[17]
Major tournaments
[edit]WFT's principal recurring tournaments include:
- Tour Kick Off — season-opening major
- Hall of Fame Classic — held in Las Vegas
- National Championships
- World Championships — season-ending championship event
The tour also sanctions or incorporates state and regional tournaments into its rankings and season points structure.[18]
