  • Comment: There are not many changes since the last reviewers' comments, and they still apply. Here are some specific issues.
    a) To get notability on an academic basis then WP:ACADEMIC applies, and there are some specific criteria there. At this stage it's not clear that notability is proven for any of the criteria.
    b) To get notability on a non-academic basis then the requirement is under WP:BASIC and that requires significant coverage, and in-depth. Databases and interviews aren't sufficient, what is needed is someone else, who is independent, writing about the subject, as a person. One area that may help is if the subject's work has been discussed in (for example) a book review.
    c) The initial writer declared a WP:COI quite correctly, the new submitter has a name similar to the subject and yet there is no WP:COI that I can see. Indeed the new submitter removed the COI label from the previous updates. Some clarity on this is needed.
    As a general point, notability here is based on Wikipedia's policies, and may be different to other definitions. Many, perhaps most, scientists, academics, won't get an article because of this approach. ChrysGalley (talk) 21:18, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

Ulrich Kampffmeyer (born April 12, 1952 in Hameln, Germany) is a German business consultant, author, archaeologist, and Information Scientist. He is regarded as one of the most influential thinkers in the field of information management in Europe, with a particular focus on digital archiving, document management, enterprise content management and the application of artificial intelligence in information systems.[1][2][3][4][5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Education and Early Career

Kampffmeyer studied Pre- and Protohistory and Near Eastern archaeology at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen, where he obtained his Magister Artium in 1978[10] and received his PhD (Dr. phil.) in 1988[11]. He also pursued studies in computer science and soil science at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, graduating in 1982 as a diplom prehistorian (Dipl. Prähist.)[12] and later the Master in Information Technology (MIT)[13][14]. His early career involved research and teaching in archaeological methodology, where he focused on the application of information technology in archaeological research.[15][16]

Professional Development

In 1992, Kampffmeyer founded the consulting company PROJECT CONSULT GmbH in Hamburg, which specializes in document management, electronic archiving, and Enterprise content management (ECM)[17]). He has held leading positions within international organizations such as the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM)[18] and the DLM Forum[19] of the European Commission, contributing to the development of standards such as MoReq2 for Records management.[20]

Contributions to Information Management

Kampffmeyer introduced the concept of 'revisionssichere Archivierung' (audit-proof archiving) in 1992, which has since become a standard for the legal and technical requirements of Digital archiving systems in Germany and Europe[21]. In his work 'Dokumenten-Technologien: Wohin geht die Reise?' (2003)[22], he analyzed the evolution of document management in the context of technological advancements and compliance requirements. His tri-lingual publication 'ECM Enterprise Content Management' (2006)[23] is considered a fundamental work in the ECM field. Additionally, he later co-developed the concept of Intelligent Information Management (IIM), which describes the integration of artificial intelligence into information management and process management[24]. All of his publications[25][26] on information management are available as public open content database.[27] As former director of IMC International Information Management Congress, Boulder, and AIIM Association for Intelligent Information Management international, Silverspring, he is an IMC Fellow of Merit and a member of the AIIM Company of Fellows[28].
