TransFi (legal name Trans-Fi Inc.) is a stablecoin-based cross-border payments company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[1] The company operates a payment orchestration platform that enables businesses to collect, convert, and disburse funds across fiat currencies and stablecoin rails, with operations across the United States, Europe, and emerging markets in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.[2][3]
TransFi was founded in 2022 by Raj Kamal, a former partner at McKinsey & Company.[3][4] Its platform supports business use cases including payroll, treasury management, vendor and contractor disbursements, remittances, and e-commerce payment collection.[2][5] By March 2026, the company reported that it had processed more than US$1 billion in cumulative transaction volume[2][6] and operated in over 100 countries.[7]
History
[edit]Founding and early products
[edit]TransFi was founded in 2022 by Raj Kamal, who had previously served as a partner at McKinsey & Company, leading the firm's payments practice in the Asia-Pacific region, and as global head of investments and mergers and acquisitions at PayU, a subsidiary of Prosus.[3][4][8] In 2022, it raised a pre-seed financing round from investors including Quiet Capital and Titan Capital.[9]
TransFi built a payments infrastructure spanning both fiat currencies and stablecoin rails.[9][7] Its products -including payment collections, payouts, and a fiat-to-digital-asset on-ramp and off-ramp -were offered to businesses through a self-serve portal and application programming interfaces (APIs).[7]
Growth
[edit]The company registered as a money services business in Canada and the United States, and according to its chief executive had regulatory applications underway in markets including Europe, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and the Philippines.[10]
In March 2026, TransFi announced that it had surpassed US$1 billion in cumulative processed transaction volume[2][6] and was operating in more than 100 countries.[7] The same month, it publicly announced a Series A financing round, led by Turing Financial Group, that it had raised in September 2025.[3] The company stated that it was targeting approximately US$5 billion in processed transaction volume for the 2026 financial year.[2][5][11]
Products and services
[edit]TransFi operates a payments platform that, according to the company, supports transactions in more than 40 fiat currencies and over 100 digital assets across more than 250 payment methods.[2][7] The platform uses stablecoins as a settlement layer as an alternative to correspondent banking and SWIFT-based transfers, targeting payment corridors in emerging markets where conventional cross-border transfers can be comparatively slow or costly.[2][10]
The company's products include:[7]
- BizPay -a self-serve business payments product for sending and receiving international payments, including a chat-based payment interface.[12]
- Checkout -a payment acceptance product supporting both cryptocurrency and fiat payment methods.[13]
- TransFi API -a unified API through which businesses integrate the company's payment, collection, and disbursement services.[14]
- Ramp -a fiat-to-digital-asset on-ramp and off-ramp allowing users to buy and sell digital assets through local payment methods.[15][2]
- Corporate Treasury Solutions -a multi-currency wallet for holding and managing fiat and digital-asset balances, backed by stablecoin balances.[16]
The platform is organised around fiat infrastructure for sending, receiving, and converting money, and crypto infrastructure for sending, receiving, buying, selling, converting, and holding digital assets.[7] The company markets its services for use cases such as cross-border payouts, global collections, treasury and foreign-exchange management, and fiat-to-crypto conversion, and for industries including digital banks and electronic money institutions, payment gateways, payroll and remittance providers, ecommerce, marketplaces, SMEs and Web3 businesses.[7]
Regulation
[edit]TransFi is registered as a money services business in Canada and the United States.[10] Its chief executive has said that the company had additional licensing processes underway in Europe, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and the Philippines.[10]
Funding
[edit]TransFi raised a pre-seed round in 2022 from investors including Quiet Capital and Titan Capital.[2][9] It raised a US$19.2 million Series A round, comprising US$14.2 million in equity and a US$5 million committed liquidity facility, led by Turing Financial Group in September 2025, and publicly announced the round in March 2026.[3][2][11] The company said the funds would be used to expand across Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa and to obtain additional regulatory licences.[2][5] At the time of the announcement, TransFi reported 16-fold revenue growth since its seed round, more than 2 million end users, and over 100 business clients.[2][5] Other investors in the company have included Blockchain Founders Fund, Cambrian Fintech, Dubai Future District Fund, and Everywhere Ventures.[1]
