Career
[edit]Koshy founded From Mug To Mike in 2013 with his wife, Archana Hallikeri, as a platform to train hobbyist singers.[1]
In June 2019, he composed "Sangeet Mera Ishq Hain", an anthem released for World Music Day, with lyrics by Mumbai-based lyricist Sahil Sultanpuri. The song was recorded and filmed in Kochi and featured a group of amateur singers from Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with live instruments including violins performed by members of the band Orfeo.[3]
In March 2021, From Mug To Mike and the Atijeevan Foundation released "Hum Shakti Hain", an anthem for acid attack survivors, to mark International Women's Day. Koshy composed the tune and appeared in the video alongside his students; the lyrics were written by Sultanpuri.[1]
Koshy has also composed songs on other social themes, including a song for World Mental Health Day in collaboration with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) and one for World Disability Day. He later composed and sang "Datey Raho", a song addressed to young people, again with lyrics by Sultanpuri.[2]
Personal life
[edit]Koshy is married to Archana Hallikeri, with whom he co-founded From Mug To Mike.[1]
