Sigrid Haanshus (born 2002)[1] is a Norwegian singer from Soknedal in Trøndelag, Norway.

Musical career

[edit]

Haanshus performed publicly for the first time as an eight-year-old in 2011. That same year, tenor Stephen Brandt-Hansen selected her as a duet partner and child soloist for his Christmas concerts at Trøndelag Teater.[2] She made her first studio recording at the age of nine. Initially sharing her performances on YouTube, her first official release was issued in March 2015.

Later in 2015, she competed in season 7 of TV 2's Norske Talenter (the Norwegian version of Got Talent).[3] Haanshus earned a "Golden Buzzer" and reached the finals as one of twelve finalists.[4] At age 13, she performed the Norwegian national anthem, "Ja, vi elsker dette landet", a cappella prior to the 2016 Norwegian Women's Cup final at Telenor Arena.[5]

In July 2017, she was featured as a performing artist on NRK1's summer program Sommeråpent,[6] and in late 2019, she performed as a soloist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK).

In 2023, Haanshus co-wrote the single "I Can't Shut My Brain Down" alongside Ah Moon and producer Ivan Blomqvist.[7][8]
