Sathida Prompiriya (Thai: สาธิดา พรหมพิริยะ), also known by her nickname Nan Sathida, is a Thai singer, musical theatre performer, recording artist, songwriter and vocal coach. Her work spans classical singing, opera, musical theatre, popular music, soundtrack recording and orchestral concerts in Thailand and internationally.

She was named Overall Champion of the Senior Singing Division at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in 2011,[1] and is known for her stage portrayal of Mae Chote in Homrong The Musical.[2] She has been a vocalist and soloist in orchestral concert series including Symphonic Anime and the Death Stranding: Strands of Harmony world tour (2025–2026).

Early life and education

Prompiriya grew up in Bangkok. She studied piano with Somchai Wongkumpoo and voice with Nati Kantathaworn.[1] She graduated with honours in business law from the Faculty of Law at Chulalongkorn University,[1][2] and in 2006 received a Diploma in Singing (LLCM) from the London College of Music and Media.[1][3]

In 2005, Prompiriya won Thailand's National Singing Competition and received the first prize and the popular vote at the 13th Chulalongkorn University Singing Contest.[1]

In 2011 she competed in the Senior Singing Division (ages 25–29) at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA). She was named Overall Champion of the division and won gold medals in five categories: Broadway/Musical, Opera, Pop, World Music, and R&B/Soul/Jazz.[1]

Opera and musical theatre

Early in her career, Prompiriya sang the role of Euridice in Orfeo with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and took part in Ayodhaya Opera.[1]

In musical theatre she played Mae Chote (แม่โชติ) in Homrong The Musical (โหมโรง เดอะ มิวสิคัล), first staged in 2015,[2] and reprised the role in the 2025 restaging marking the production's tenth anniversary.[4] In 2016 she played Phra Chan (พระจันทร์, "the Moon") in Nitan Hing Hoi The Musical (นิทานหิ่งห้อย เดอะ มิวสิคัล) at the K Bank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theatre, Bangkok, which ran from 8 October to 5 November 2016.[5]

Symphonic Anime

Prompiriya has been a guest vocalist in the Symphonic Anime concert series, which presents music from Japanese anime in an orchestral setting. She appeared as a special guest in the 2019 concerts of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) at Prince Mahidol Hall,[6] and in March 2023 she and Nat Sakdatorn were the guest vocalists in Symphonic Anime 2023 with the TPO and Choir under conductor Thanapol Setabrahmana at the same venue.[7]

In September 2023 she performed in the Vietnamese leg of the series, at the Hanoi Opera House and in Ho Chi Minh City, with more than 100 orchestra and choir members and several Japanese anime composers in attendance.[8] In 2024 she joined the first North American Symphonic Anime tour, performing in Montreal (6 September, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier) and Toronto (7 September, Meridian Hall).[9][3]

Always With Me: Ghibli Instrumental Concert

In October 2023, Prompiriya was the guest vocalist for Always With Me: Ghibli Instrumental Concert, performed by the Bloom Trio (piano, violin and flute) at Sala Sudasiri Sobha, Bangkok. The programme included music from Studio Ghibli films such as Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo.[10]

Death Stranding: Strands of Harmony

From 2025 to 2026, Prompiriya was one of the vocalists on Death Stranding: Strands of Harmony, an orchestral world tour featuring music from the Death Stranding series with visuals from the games. The tour opened in Sydney on 8 November 2025 and concluded after 21 shows in 19 regions. Kojima Productions credited the vocalists as Jenny Plant, Nan Sathida, Tony Flaherty and Yosh of Survive Said the Prophet.[11]

The Japanese dates were held in February 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (23 February) and at the Osaka International Convention Center with the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra (28 February), both conducted by Hirofumi Kurita.[12] Hideo Kojima later posted a photograph of himself with Kurita, Yosh and Prompiriya.[13]


Recording and songwriting

Prompiriya has recorded with Thai labels and for television soundtracks. In 2017 she was the featured vocalist on "Hands" by F.Hero.[14] She also recorded "Yai Rak" for the series Jai Khang Chao.[15]

The Final Piece

Her debut solo album, The Final Piece, was released by Classy Records on 5 December 2013 on CD, in a pressing of 1,000 copies.[16] A limited-edition 180-gram vinyl edition, manufactured in Japan and limited to 500 copies, followed on 5 February 2014.[17]

Songwriting

In 2022, Prompiriya and composer-producer Phudinan Deesawatdi Mongkol co-wrote "Love Destiny" (ผ่านกาลเวลา), the original song for Kakao Webtoon Thailand's webtoon adaptation of Love Destiny (บุพเพสันนิวาส). She performed the song and co-wrote the melody and lyrics; it was released on 1 May 2022.[18]

Television

In 2019 Prompiriya appeared in The Mask Wannakhadi Thai (The Mask วรรณคดีไทย), a Thai masked singing competition, as the character Nang Phanthurat (หน้ากากนางพันธุรัตน์), who won the "Mai Chattawa" group.[19][20]

Vocal coaching

Prompiriya has taught singing for more than a decade and works as a vocal coach and vocal director for singers and entertainment companies in Thailand.[2]
