Comment: Good work so far on this article. However, unfortunately, in order to prove notability, an article needs to references 2-3 sources which are reliable, independent, secondary sources, which talk about the subject of the Wikipedia article at length. So far the references you have are mostly either from organisations connected to Runthrough, or else routine mentions of events etc. your best chance to achieve notability would be to find some more articles directly profiling the company in general media outlets. '''RunThrough''' is a mass-participation running events company founded in 2013 by Matt Wood and Ben Green.^[1]^[2] Based in the United Kingdom, it organises road, trail, and triathlon events across the country and, since 2025, in several international markets.^[3]

More than 405,000 people entered a RunThrough event during 2025, four to five times the entry numbers of the Great North Run or the London Marathon.^[4]

History

Matt Wood and Ben Green founded RunThrough in 2013, staging their first event at Bushy Park.^[5]^[6] The company grew from a small operator into one running hundreds of events a year, built around a community and participation-focused model rather than elite competition.^[7] By 2024 it was staging around 250 events a year for approximately 200,000 runners.^[8]

Participant numbers rose from 211,000 in 2023 to more than 320,000 in 2024, reaching over 400,000 across more than 350 events in 2025.^[9]

In 2023, RunThrough staged the Warrington Running Festival in Ben Green's hometown as the UK's first free-to-enter mass-participation road race, run through the company's charitable arm, the RunThrough Foundation. Entry was balloted, with priority given to local postcodes.^[10] The company had returned to in-person racing in 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic, having run a series of virtual events during lockdown.^[11]

Growth and international expansion

RunThrough began with UK road races before expanding into trail running and triathlon, and later into international markets. Its portfolio includes RunThrough Trails and race brands operating in Europe, Qatar, and the United States, with reported plans to expand into Germany, Italy, and Australia.^[12]

In November 2024, RunThrough was named as the new organiser of the Swindon Half Marathon, returning the race after a six-year absence with a redesigned route intended to reduce disruption to residents.^[13] The event was held in September 2025.^[14]

Events

RunThrough's UK programme includes the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon and the Surrey Half Marathon.^[15] In 2026, the British Mid-Distance Trail Championships were incorporated into the company's Lake District trail event.^[16]

Coverage of RunThrough events has included operational difficulties. In August 2022, four runners were taken to hospital after collapsing during a sold-out RunThrough half marathon in Richmond Park during a heatwave; the event drew 350 entrants.^[17] In March 2026, participants raised complaints over the organisation of the Wolverhampton 10K, including problems with race-pack distribution.^[18]

Other events that have received regional coverage include the Royal Windsor Triathlon, the Thorpe Park Triathlon, a half marathon in Darlington, the Kettering Half Marathon and 5K, and 10K races in Fulham and Altrincham.^[19]^[20]^[21]^[22]

Partnerships

The hydration brand Nuun partnered with RunThrough as part of its UK and Ireland launch.^[23] Nike and SportsShoes.com sponsored the 2025 Altrincham 10K.^[24]^[25]^[26] Descente partnered with the company on the Windsor Triathlon.^[27]

Related ventures

RunThrough also operates a running apparel brand, RunThrough Kit, and a coaching service, RunThrough Coach.^[28]^[29]
