Prakash Divakaran is an Indian academic and university administrator who serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Himalayan University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
Career
[edit]Divakaran serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Himalayan University in Arunachal Pradesh, having previously served as its Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
In November 2025, Divakaran met Arunachal Pradesh Governor Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, for discussions concerning higher education, research, and academic collaboration between universities and government institutions.[1]
In May 2025, he presented the annual report at a Himalayan University convocation ceremony where 930 degrees were conferred.[2]
In August 2026, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu recognised Divakaran’s academic contributions during a roundtable of vice-chancellors from the Northeast held in Pasighat, which focused on skill development and higher education in the region.[3]
In September 2026, Divakaran delivered a keynote address on value-driven leadership and education at the Thailand International Leadership Award 2026 forum in Thailand.[4]
Publications and awards
[edit]In December 2025, Divakaran co-authored Empowering Minds and Transforming Lives: Sree Narayana Guru’s Philosophy of Education and Skill Development with Suresh Kumar Madhushudhan. The book was released by Vice-President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan during the 93rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage in Varkala, Kerala.[5]
In December 2025, Divakaran received a Certificate of Appreciation for Leadership and Academic Contribution at the National Leadership Summit 2025 in Pune.[6]
