Meta Endurance[1] is a media outlet specialising in endurance sports, primarily running, but also cycling and triathlon. The outlet publishes social media content ranging from unpaid running technology reviews[2] to live event coverage, as well as videos on Youtube, podcast interviews and articles for the parent website. Across all platforms, Meta Endurance reached a total of 300 million+ impressions in 2025. An English-speaking media company with a large international audience, its headquarters are located in Brussels, Belgium.
Background
[edit]The company was founded in 2020 by Alex Filitti[3] with the overarching mission to grow the endurance community. Its name 'Meta Endurance', established the same year, was inspired by both the Latin and Greek translations of the word 'Meta'. A combination of its meaning in these two languages roughly translates to 'beyond the finish line', reinforcing Meta Endurance's core principle of there being no limits on what can be achieved in endurance sport. The company logo also shares a similar meaning, with the 'M' shaped to represent the idea that once you've finished climbing one mountain, another opportunity awaits.
On the 18th November 2020, the Meta Endurance website launched as a platform to independently review running shoe technology. By February 2021 the media outlet also had a presence on YouTube and later that year went on to cover their first live event, the UTMB trail race.
Meta Endurance Media
[edit]As a media company, Meta Endurance is split into two branches, one of which focuses on running technology and the other on running news.
Technology
[edit]In this area, one of the company's main functions is testing running shoes to provide insights that help runners choose which trainer to buy based on their individual needs. They also attend running events to stay up-to-date on upcoming releases and share them with the Meta Endurance community, as well as visiting brand facilities and factories for the same purpose.
Several of Meta Endurance's Instagram concepts are now widespread across the industry and other media companies. Its 'shoe squish' reels[4], one of which was for a period the most watched running-related piece of content on Instagram with over 80 million views, are particularly popular.
Racing
[edit]Meta Endurance Racing is a branch which focuses on keeping the community informed on the latest news in running, as well as providing live coverage of events. They are present at trail and road running events like UTMB and the Abbott World Marathon Majors, and occasionally track events such as the Diamond League series. The type of content includes race results, athlete interviews and performance data.
