MEBİ is an AI-supported and free individual learning platform developed by the General Directorate of Secondary Education of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye. The platform was made accessible on October 21, 2024, for high school students, middle school students, and graduates preparing for exams.[1][2]
History
[edit]The MEBİ platform was developed to support the individual learning processes of students in secondary and primary education. The first version of the platform included 1,036 lecture videos, 1,036 subject summaries, and 61,361 questions for the YKS (University Entrance Exam) and high school courses.[3] On September 16, 2025, the scope was expanded to include content for 5th, 6th, and 8th grade middle school students, thus incorporating the LGS (High School Entrance Exam) preparation process into the platform. This update added 156 lecture videos, 608 readiness questions, 696 activities, and 351 past exam questions.[4] In March 2025, the "Guidance Module," containing guidance documents for students' academic, socio-emotional, and vocational development, was launched.[5] New monitoring tools, designed to support students' individual learning processes and increase the participation of teachers and parents, are planned to be implemented in the 2026-2027 academic year.[6]
Modules
[edit]The platform consists of six main modules:[2] YKS and LGS Preparation: Includes exam packages, readiness tests, assessment tests, instructional videos, and past exam questions.[2][4] School Subjects: Contains curriculum-based course content tailored to different grade levels.[2] Study Plan: Enables students to create weekly study schedules.[2] Reporting: Displays completion status for "YKS Preparation," "LGS Preparation," and "School Subjects" content, as well as subject-specific progress reports.[2][4] Guidance: Offers PDF documents addressing students' academic, socio-emotional, and vocational development needs. It includes content on managing exam anxiety, effective study methods, career awareness, and preventing risky behaviors and addiction.[5] Stay Fit: Included to support students' physical and mental well-being. It features exercise videos to prevent postural issues caused by prolonged sedentary time in front of a screen, relaxing music, and a break reminder mechanism.[7] The platform features an AI-powered virtual assistant named "KANKA" to help users easily access the topics they are looking for.[2]
