Draft:Krillion
| This draft may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion because it serves only to promote or publicise an entity, person, product, or idea, and would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic. However, the mere fact that a company, organization, or product is a page's subject does not, on its own, qualify that page for deletion under this criterion. This criterion also does not apply where substantial encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material as deletion is not cleanup; in this case please remove the promotional material yourself, or add the {{advert}} tag to alert others to do so. See CSD G11.
If this draft does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, or you intend to fix it, please remove this notice, but do not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself. If you created this page and you disagree with the given reason for deletion, you can click the button below and leave a message explaining why you believe it should not be deleted. You can also visit the talk page to check if you have received a response to your message. This draft may be deleted at any time if it unquestionably meets the speedy deletion criteria, or if an explanation posted to the talk page is found to be insufficient. Krillion, or krillion.io is a web-based, .io trivia game. Each game consists of 7 prompts, or trivia questions, players have 25 seconds to answer each question. The more obscure or rare the answer, the higher the score. A new set of questions are available daily.
Game theme
[edit]Krillion has an oceanic theme. The name of Krillion is a portmanteau of 'krill' and 'million'. Each day's game is called a 'daily dive', the krill character sinks into the ocean after each answer, its depth dependent on the score. The highest possible score of an answer, 100 points (or -1000 meters), is called 'one in a krillion'.
Gameplay
[edit]Players must answer 7 prompts, they are given 25 seconds for each. The scoring is based on a preset list of accepted answers. There are 7 obtainable scores for each prompt:
| Points | Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | / (Nothing Landed) | When no accepted answer is submitted after the 25-second time limit. |
| 10 | Plankton | |
| 15 | Too Clever | Not obtainable for most prompts, reserved for the ''obscure' pick that isn’t actually that obscure'.[1] |
| 30 | Schooler | |
| 60 | Rare | |
| 85 | Deep Cut | |
| 100 | (One in a) Krillion | Usually only for one answer, sometimes two. |
The rarity of answers is sometimes sorted algorithmically during the creation of the answer list. However, the 'Krillion' answer (100 points) is chosen not solely by rarity:[1]
Past a certain depth, rarity gets hard to disambiguate, so the gem is also picked for fun factor: the answer that’s most satisfying to land on. That might sound like it defeats the point, but some of the answers collected are so obscure that maybe one of you would ever type them. The gem should be something at least a few of you actually get.

Other information
[edit]Krillion has 'themed packs', extra available levels in which gameplay is identical except prompts revolve around a specific theme. There are 5 themes, namely: 'Words & Language (English)', 'At the Movies', 'Sports', 'Geography' and 'Music' (upcoming).
The web game is operated by one person.[2] Its developer has planned a multiplayer version of the game, as well as a party game of similar premise.[1]
