HoSt Group was founded in 1991 as 'HoSt' through a joint venture between Holec Projects and Stork, both suppliers of energy systems:. Headquartered in Enschede, the Netherlands, HoSt Group is a family-owned company, with Dutch roots, that includes several independently operating companies: HoSt Bioenergy Systems, Bright Renewables, HyGear, InstalSolutions, and TELE Besturingstechniek. These companies offer renewable energy technologies for the production of renewable gas, heat, and power, hydrogen technology, and services.

History The company was founded in October 19th, 1991 by Herman Klein Teeselink through a joint venture between Holec Projects and Stork Boilers (Stork Ketels) in Hengelo, Overijssel in the Netherlands. Then known as just HoSt, the company started with conducting energy saving projects in industrial companies. In 1999, Herman Klein Teeselink privatized the company and started focussing on building biogas plants (anaerobic digesters), biomass-fired heat and power plants, and gasifiers to produce renewable energy from biowaste streams. • Due to growth of the company, the headquarters moved in 2010 to Hengelo's neighbouring city Enschede, Overijssel in the Netherlands. This office was expanded in 2017. • In 2013, HoSt opened an office in France. • A year later, in 2014, an office in Latvia was opened and in the UK. • In 2016, the company launched the company and brand Bright Renewables, formerly known as Bright Biomethane. • In the course of 2020, the baton was passed on to Jelle Klein Teeselink, the oldest son of Herman Klein Teeselink, which represents the second generation in the management and therefore maintains the company as a family business. • In 2021, Greenmac, a Dutch biogas upgrading technology company, was acquired by HoSt Group. And the company acquired InstalSolutions, a large production facility in Poland. • The international expansion continued with the opening of an office in Vancouver, Washington, USA in 2022. • In 2023, the group acquired HyGear, a hydrogen technology company, with an office in Arnhem, the Netherlands. • In 2024, the group has over 600 employees across 7 offices and 5 companies/brands.

The HoSt Group can be divided in the following product/technology brands • Biogas & CO2 valorisation: biogas upgrading, CO2 liquefaction, carbon capture, biomethane liquefaction (bio-LNG) e-methanol, bio-CNG.
