evroc is a cloud computing and artificial intelligence company founded in 2022 and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. It provides cloud infrastructure and AI services operated within European jurisdiction, and has been covered in the financial and technology press as a European challenger to United States cloud providers.[1][2][3][4][5] Its cloud platform became commercially available in July 2025.[6][7]

In 2026, evroc was named as one of several suppliers to a Swedish Armed Forces programme to develop a new cloud-based command system for sharing security-classified information.[8][9][10]

History

[edit]

evroc was founded in 2022 by Mattias Åström, with seed funding from EQT Ventures and Norrsken VC.[11][12]

In 2023, evroc opened offices in Sophia Antipolis, France, and London.[7]

In January 2024, Åström met French President Emmanuel Macron during Macron's state visit to Sweden, in connection with the company's activities in France.[13]

In 2024 evroc raised €50.6 million in a Series A round led by blisce/, with participation from Giant Ventures, EQT Ventures and Norrsken VC. The round was announced in March 2025 and reported as the largest Series A in the Nordic technology sector.[14][15][16]

In February 2025 the company purchased land at Arlandastad, near Stockholm Arlanda Airport, for a data centre,[17] and announced plans for a 96 MW data centre at Mougins, France, with a stated investment of up to €4 billion.[18][19]

The cloud platform became commercially available in July 2025.[6][7]

In March 2026 evroc launched roc, an AI service for business use, together with evroc Think, a platform providing access to several AI models through a single system.[12][20][21]

In June 2026 the Swedish government announced a SEK 5 billion programme to modernise the Swedish Armed Forces' command capability using AI, 5G and cloud technology.[8] The programme involves the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and Teracom, with evroc, Freja eID, Elastisys, Aityr and T-Unit among the suppliers contributing to the cloud platform for the Swedish Interoperable Combat Cloud (SINCC).[9][10][22][23]

Services

[edit]

evroc provides compute, storage and networking services, together with GPU infrastructure for machine learning workloads.[6][24] Its AI service roc supports tasks including text production, data analysis and coding, and can connect AI models to an organisation's internal documents and databases.[21] The accompanying evroc Think platform functions as a model router, selecting between different AI models according to the task.[12][25]

Locations

[edit]

evroc is headquartered in Stockholm and has development offices in Sweden, the United Kingdom and France.[25] Its cloud services operate from data centres in Stockholm, Paris and Frankfurt.[11][18]
