Emma Flick (born March 19, 2004) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left back for Danish A-Liga club HB Køge. She played college soccer for the Xavier Musketeers.

Early life

[edit]

Flick grew up in Streetsboro, Ohio, the daughter of Matthew and Christine Flick, and has three siblings.[2] She started out playing baseball and softball when she was young before taking up soccer in second grade.[3] She also played volleyball and in middle school and ran track.[3] She played club soccer for Ambassadors FC.[2] She joined the varsity soccer team as a freshman at Streetsboro High School, setting a school record with 25 goals in her first season, then breaking her own record with 33 goals in her sophomore year.[3] She again broke her own record with 39 goals in her junior year, receiving first-team all-state honors.[4] She finished her senior year with the last new record 46 goals and was named the OHSAA Division II player of the year and United Soccer Coaches All-American.[5] She committed to play college soccer for the Xavier Musketeers during her senior year.[6]

College career

[edit]

Flick played in all 23 games for the Xavier Musketeers as a freshman in 2022, recording 4 goals and 3 assists.[2] She became a starter as a sophomore in 2023, posting 4 goals and 2 assists in 20 games, while helping Xavier win a share of the Big East Conference regular-season title and earn a program best four seed in the NCAA tournament.[2] She started all 21 games, scored 6 goals, and added 8 assists in her junior year in 2024.[2] She was named second-team All-Big East and helped the Musketeers to their third consecutive Big East tournament title game, though they lost all three finals.[2] She scored a career-high 7 goals and recorded 8 assists in 21 games in her senior year in 2025, receiving second-team All-Big East honors for the second time.[2] She was named in the all-tournament team after Xavier won the second Big East tournament title in program history.[2]

Club career

[edit]

On July 9, 2026, Danish champions HB Køge announced the signing of Flick to her first professional contract.[7] She made her professional debut on August 29, starting in a 2–0 victory over AGF.[8] On September 22, she made her UEFA Women's Champions League debut in a 1–0 loss to Arsenal, playing the full 90 minutes.[9]
