Dejpa Oil and Bitumen Refinery Company is a privately held Iranian company involved in the production and supply of bitumen. The company is registered in Tehran, and its production site is reported to be near Hasanabad in Tehran province.[1]
History and operations
[edit]According to the company's official website, Dejpa began operating in 1983 and was founded by Hassan Sheikhi.[2] Corporate notices published in the Iranian press identify the legal entity as Dejpa Oil and Bitumen Refinery Company, a private joint-stock company registered under number 51009 and national identifier 10100961681.[3] The company states that it has supplied products to more than 20 countries; this figure has not been independently verified.[2]
Management and public events
[edit]An October 2023 report by Farda-ye Eghtesad stated that the company organized the third National Value Bitumen Conference, focused on technical knowledge of bitumen, and identified Vahid Sheikhi as Dejpa's chief executive officer.[4] The Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters' Union listed Dejpa among the sponsors that received a commemorative award at the union's sixteenth annual conference in October 2023.[5]
Products and quality assessment
[edit]Products listed on the company's website include paving and industrial bitumen, penetration-grade bitumen, performance-grade bitumen, polymer-modified bitumen, bitumen emulsions, cutback bitumen, hydrocarbons, and petroleum mulch.[6]
According to the company's quality-control description, its bitumen emulsions undergo standardized laboratory testing and application-specific testing, including procedures for anionic and cationic emulsions.[7]
The public technical-certificate register of Iran's Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center lists Dejpa Oil and Bitumen Refinery Company (national identifier 10100961681) for performance-grade bitumen PG 58-16, PG 58-22, PG 64-16, PG 64-22, PG 70-10 and PG 70-16, with a listed validity date of 23 Farvardin 1406.[8] The certificate image attached to that public record labels the rating as A+.[8] The company's website also lists ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 among its stated certificates and honours; the page does not provide a separate certificate number, issuing body or validity date for each item.[9] The public knowledge-based companies dashboard also lists the company, using the same national identifier, in Tehran with the status "Innovative" in the advanced materials and chemical-technology-products field; its displayed confirmation date is 17 Khordad 1405.[10] Dejpa is also named in bitumen supply notices published by the Iran Mercantile Exchange.[11][12]
In a report published on 19 May 2014, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) listed offers of 1,000 tonnes of 60/70 bitumen and 1,000 tonnes of 85/100 bitumen by a company named Rah Dejpa Bitumen and Asphalt Barrel Manufacturing Company in the export hall of the Iran Mercantile Exchange.[13] ISNA also listed an entity identified as “Towlidi Boshkeh va Ghir Sanati va Asphalt Rah Dejpa” among bitumen suppliers in the exchange’s export hall on 7 May 2013.[14] In May 2011, Bourse News, citing an interview by Fars with the technical and admissions secretary of the Iran Mercantile Exchange, reported that Dejpa Bitumen Company had submitted an application for admission to the exchange.[15] Bourse24, citing the Iran Mercantile Exchange public-relations office, also reported an offer of 2,000 tonnes of bitumen by an entity named Rah Dejpa Manufacturing Company in the export hall on 15 April 2014.[16] Mehr News Agency also listed Rah Dejpa Bitumen among companies that jointly traded 4,400 tonnes of bitumen for export in the exchange's export hall during the 2014 Nowruz period.[17] On 13 November 2024, the Kerman provincial office of Iran's Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization reported that Dejpa Oil and Bitumen Refinery Company participated in a national bio-mulch gathering in Bam, alongside Natural Resources Organization officials and specialists.[18]
A 2024 research paper on the viscoelastic properties of bituminous composites acknowledged assistance from Dejpa Bitumen Manufacturing Company.[19]
