DM ( Doctorate of Medicine ) in Virology is a superspeciality course conducted in India. It is a 3 year superspeciality medical course taken up by Indian doctors who completed MBBS followed by MD / DNB. It is a 3 year residency program conducted under norms and regulation of National Medical Commission. The first batch was started in 2020
DM ( Doctorate of Medicine ) in Virology course focuses on the advanced study of medically essential human viruses, infections, their diagnosis, treatment, prevention and epidemiology.
Virologist plays an important role in modern medicine, particularly with the emergency of new viral infections, outbreaks, and the increasing need for accurate and rapid laboratory diagnosis. A DM in Virology provides comprehensive training in areas such as molecular diagnostics, viral culture, serology, antiviral therapy, infection control, surveillance, and research.
Given the limited available seats for DM Virology ( 5 Seats through NEET-SS and 2 Seats through INI-SS ), candidate with high score and top ranks have a greater opportunity to secure admission to DM Virology.
