Cullipool (Scottish Gaelic: Culapul)^[1] is a village on the northwest coast of the island of Luing,^[2] in the civil parish of Kilbrandon and Kilchattan, in the council area of Argyll and Bute, Scotland.^[3] It is the principal settlement of the island.^[4]^[5] In 1961 it had a population of 84.^[6] Cullipool has a village hall.^[7]

History

The name "Cullipool" may be Gaelic for "boat pool"^[8] or Norse for "coal farm".^[9]
