Andre N. Jackson
Andre N. Jackson is an American documentary filmmaker. He directed and produced Beyond Banners, a documentary about the Gwynn Park High School basketball program in Brandywine, Maryland.[1][2]
Early life and education
Jackson is a native of Prince George's County, Maryland.[1] He played basketball at Gwynn Park High School.[3] He graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2004 with a degree in human studies.[4]
Beyond Banners
Beyond Banners is Jackson's first documentary.[1][3] It covers about 60 years of basketball history at Gwynn Park High School.[1] According to the Fairfax County Times, the school's boys' basketball team won 10 state titles between 1968 and 1988.[3] WJLA's Good Morning Washington described the film as following the team through the years and how things have changed over time.[2] The Southern Documentary Fund served as the project's fiscal sponsor.[3]
